Easthampton Teacher Kelley Brown Interviewed for PBSKelley Brown, the teacher of the We the People national championship-winning class from Easthampton High School, was interviewed for Connecting Point, program of PBS affiliate WGBY 57 in Massachusetts. Brown relates how her students could have walked away when they found out they couldn't make the trip to Washington, but instead persisted, preparing for three hours every day for the competition, which took place online. Fishers Junior High School Places First in We the People National Invitational ChallengeThe first-ever We the People National Invitational Challenge took place online this Saturday, with Fishers Junior High School from Indiana placing first, Sanford Middle School from Florida finishing second, and Stanley British Primary School from Colorado placing third. Students from throughout the nation testified on principles of the U.S. Constitution. The entire competition was conducted on Zoom. Easthampton High School Places First in We the People National Finals ChallengeKelley Brown's class from Easthampton High School in Massachusetts placed first in the 2020 We the People National Finals Challenge. Lincoln High School from Oregon placed second and Maggie L. Walker Governor's School from Virginia was third. The event was the first-ever online We the People National Finals, held live using Zoom.
