Der Appaloosa Horse Club Germany e.V. ist der einzige staatlich anerkannte Zuchtverband, der das Ursprungszuchtbuch der Rasse Appaloosa für gesamt Europa führt. Seit März 2015 führt der ApHCG e.V. gemeinsam mit dem Bay. Zuchtverband für Kleinpferde und Spezialrassen e.V. zusätzlich das Ursprungszuchtbuch der Rasse Pony of the Americas (POA) für Europa.
