Last night, Del Shores, Emerson Collins, Damien Ganczweski and I attended the ultra-swank Dallas Black Tie Dinner. Over 3000 gays and friends joined in their best formals to raise money for AIDS and other gay causes at the largest gay fundraiser in America. Martin Sheen was the keynote speaker and the highlight of the live auction -- at least as far as I was concerned - was 3 walk-on roles for my series. The first was a walk-on in the mental institution where you could watch Emmy-winner Leslie Jordan perform drag as Tammy Wynette. It went for $5000.00. The second was the opportunity to sit one row behind Delta Burke and Ann Walker as they watched me, "Ty", in my naked play where I, yes, was going to be 100 percent naked. That went for $4500.00. Lastly, was the fanstastic chance of a lifetime to be an extra at Bubba's Beer Joint where "Bitsy Mae", played by legendary icon Olivia Newton-John, would be singing 5 new songs LIVE. Two of those were sold at $7500.00 each! The total for our Sordid contributions was a whopping $24,500.00. Del woke me up after hearing a loud banging on what he thought was our door. The kind of banging that said, "I'm breaking in." Not, "Let me in." I hustled to the peep hole and saw nothing, then from bed heard it again and could tell that it was not our door, rather some sort of dispute between drunken folks next door. Sleeping pills digested, we both quickly fell back to sleep. At 5:45 when little Ty Guapo started licking my ear to go out to pee, we hit the hallway to find several pillows, a blanket with shaving cream all over it, and a spot where it appeared someone had been sleeping. Once I was up for good about 8AM, I went back out with my camera, and much to my dissapointment, the sleeping pad was gone. But much to my excitement, this is what I did find: A bottle of beer with a cigarette butt floating in it sitting next to a bottle of Smart Water filled with piss. I guess someone was too druink to go outside to smoke or use the lobby urinal to take a leak! Guess that Smart Water's not all it's cracked up to be :)_ Hey Guys! The show also stars Delta Burke, Rue McClanahan and Olivia Newton-John.The comedy is an offshoot of the successful 2000 film. It is about an eccentric Texas family that leads off-kilter lives. Well, we tried. After several extremely fun publicity stunts, Del Shores and I have received word via a friend that Britney's label says she's "fallen off the face of the planet." Luckily we have a most fantastic cast and a slew of A-List guest stars possibly coming on board. I saw "Ty's" apartment today and it's just gorgeous! The production team is fantastic and the scripts are just brilliant. We are having to keep a very low profile during the writer's strike. Even though we have been entirely up and up, no one wants to risk any difficulties during production -- God knows we had enough of those just getting this show made!Oh, I read today that Britney tested positive for amphetamines. Of course she did. She's a fucked up mess. There's video of her getting pulled over (she's not driving) and her eyes are darting around just like someone who's on coke or crystal. And she stuttered so badly on Ryan Seacrest's show, that it seemed the same verdict there as well. Baby, NOT one more time! I was just starting to get used to the paparazzi in Los Angeles when we relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana to shoot Sordid. Apparently there are paparazzi here, too. Sweet.more updates to come! The Writer's Guild has officially gone on strike, starting today at 12:01AM. Fortunately, Del Shores has already written all 12 episodes of Sordid Lives: The Series! We are going strong in production in Shreveport! I will have finalized cast information posted for you in the next few days. In other Sordid news, Craig Taggart and T. Ashanti Mozelle - our costumers and guest stars in Sordid Lives: The Series -arrived safely last night after their drive from Los Angeles. Finally the time has come to make this project a real dream come true!Joining forces with MTV's new gay channel LOGO, 2007 Emmy Winners Once Upon a Time Productions, Queer Eye's Scout Productions, and IMG World Media, Del Shores has put together a winning team that will help make Sordid Lives: The Series the huge hit it's destined to become.Superstars Delta Burke and Olivia Newton-John, will be joined by Beth Grant, Leslie Jordan, Ann Walker, Rosemary Alexander, Newell Alexander, Sarah Hunley, and now possibly Rue McClanahan for the serialized prequel to Shores' 2001 cult-hit film Sordid Lives. . Filming is set to begin on November 28th with an American airdate tentatively scheduled for this time next year. It's basically a gay wet dream of a cast. And I'll be joining as the new "Ty". And, yes, I'm dying! :)Getting here was another story!Del Shores flew into Dallas where I met him after driving from Los Angeles with my two dogs in tow. We partied it up in Dallas for Halloween weekend and for our 4 year wedding anniversary (Oct. 26th) before finally landing in Shreveport, Louisiana on Sunday.
