History of the Si Stebbins System According to Bill Kalush and Wesley James, the card system known to magicians worldwide as the Si Stebbins System first appeared in print in 1593 – about 200 years after the introduction of playing cards, as they are known today. Even today, in this advanced technological age, magicians continue debate its pros and cons in open forums on the Internet.
