I've been holding off on making a decision, hoping that my life would calm down enough that we could just have one a little later than usual, around late April or May, but it looks like that isn't going to happen. Between my new job and training and moving, my life is so up in the air right now that I honestly have no idea where I'll be in a few months. And the way all this stress is affecting my health means I don't really relish the idea of adding more stress on top of what I've already got.I'm so sorry to let you guys down. I absolutely LOVE MiniMerlin, seeing you all makes me SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY, it is literally the HIGHLIGHT OF MY YEAR. It kills me to think I won't get to have that this year. This fandom has given me SO MUCH, and I relish this little chance to give back and add to the love. Believe me, if I thought there was any way I could do this without turning myself into a nervous wreck, I would do it. But it's just not in the cards this year, unless you all are willing to wait until, like, September or October.If there's anyone in fandom who would like to take up the mantle this year, I would be more than happy to offer any help I can, in the form of notes and things from past years. If you're considering it, it is an AMAZING, fun thing to do if you enjoy planning parties and such, but just know this: It is a LOT of work, WAY more than you'd think at first. I was unemployed the year I planned it all on my own, and I still struggled to get it done in time, though realistically part of that is because I had limited internet access for about a month of the time I was planning.Again, you guys, I'm sorry. You have no idea how much I wish circumstances were different, but I hope you understand. ARE YOU EXCITED???As the date for EPIC FUNTIMES draws near, there are still a few loose that need to be tied up.1. zephre has generously offered to bring a portable DVD player and her copy of the S3 DVDs for us to watch!!! I have also ordered a couple box sets for S1 and S2, but just in case they don't get here in time, I was wondering if anyone else would like to volunteer to bring his/her copy of one of the earlier seasons as well? The DVD player can play all regions, so any copies you guys are willing to bring would be great! Sorted, thanks to ninja_orange!!! 2. We just wanted to remind everyone that while we're providing pizza dinner on Saturday night, Friday night we will be providing snacks like chips and salsa and non-alcoholic beverages. :D We should have enough for everyone to nibble on, but if anyone else wants to bring food to share you're more than welcome! We can make it a MiniMerlin pot luck! If you'd like, you can even make a comment about it below, and that way if anyone else wants to contribute but is wondering what to bring, they'll be able to see what others are planning. Check in at the hotel starts at 3:00 pm, so if anyone else will be in town around that time and wouldn't mind helping to decorate the con suite and set stuff up, let me know! OMG, YOU GUYS!) \o/So, there's no way to do a poll that is completely anonymous, and I don't feel comfortable putting up a poll of vids that everyone can see the results for if the vidders themselves haven't actually signed up for it, so in order to keep things totally confidential here are the rules for vid show voting:To vote for your favorite vids, leave a comment below with the listed numbers corresponding to the vids you are voting for. All comments are screened, and you can comment as many times as you want and vote for as many vids as you like, as long as you're not voting for the same vid twice. This actually should work out pretty well, because we have SO MANY VIDS, and this method of voting should give you the option to watch a few vids, then vote, then come back later and watch a few more, then vote again, etc. There is no limit to how many you can vote for, but voting is limited to con attendees ONLY. However, the wonderful Sales Manager at the hotel has told me that as long as the hotel has rooms available, we can still get them at the discounted rate. But the closer it gets to the date of the con, the less likely it is there will actually be hotel rooms available. If you're late to sign up and would still like to stay at the hotel, just PM me or email me at ras.elased_star at yahoo dot com, and I'll let you know if it's possible.General registration for those not staying at the hotel is still open, though, and will remain open until April 1st.In the meantime, keep watching this community for posts about the upcoming vid show nominations and other activities as we get closer to the con.
