McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, is a training program designed to support undergraduate students from low-income/first-generation and underrepresented backgrounds in their pursuit of a Ph.D. Learn more about the Program McNair Office Closed Please be advised that the McNair office in the Infirmary is currently closed. McNair Alumna NSF GRFP Recipient 2020 Congratulations to one of our recent grad, Zoe Davis, who has been presented with the Graduate Research Fellowship Program by the National Science Foundation. The program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students pursuing research-based master's and doctoral degrees. Fellows are provided a stipend, tuition and fees allowance, opportunities for international research and professional development, and the freedom to conduct research at any accredited U.S. institution. National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program Scholar Tran Ngo Earns Prestigious Scholarship Congratulations to Tran Ngo for being this year's recipient of the C. William Hall Scholarship presented by the Society of Biomaterials (SFB). Ngo is a third year Biomedical Engineering student, part of the 2019 - 2020 McNair Scholars cohort, who is doing research in the Schmidt Lab. There she is investigating the fabrication and characterization of hyaluronic acid (HA) based on hydrogel scaffolds for peripheral nerve regeneration caused by injuries, which often result in a loss of motor and/or sensory function. With the C. William Hall Scholarship, Ngo will present her research at the upcoming 2020 World Biomaterials Congress in Glasgow, Scotland. Congratulations Tran! C.
