Club Founder, President, Groundsman and General stalwart of the club has announced he is to depart the club and town to move back to Cannock to be near his family The Lowther won't be the same without John fussing over his pitches and spending time with all the teams connected to the club. John you will be sorely missed by us all at the club and local football and hope you have a long and enjoyable retirement with your family and particulary with your Grand kids. John will visit the club when he can and we hope to see him visit soon. Thanks John for all that you have done for the club. The lads took on Grange Park at Sixfields and ran out winners 2-1, after going down a goal after ten minutes af tough exchange the lads grew to the challenge and strated to get into the game we pulled a goal back shortly after and continued to take the game to Grange, we got a break when an own goal gave us a lead we had grown to going in at half time 2-1 up. The lads took control of the game more second half wit the defense hold strong, we craeted more chances but failed to increase the scoring, all credit to Grange who pushed all the way to the final whistle as we ran out winners of the game, a real sho piece final. Man of the match was Liam Honour but all the lads deserve credit for the performance they put in. Thanks lads enjoy the summer come back ready for next season. Cngratulation to Matt and Pete for another fantastic season They put Corby to the sword running out winners 8-2 in what must be one of our best results thus far since our inceptions. However we cannot get carried away at such an early stage of the season but enjoy the win and now get set up for a hard game on Thursday 13th away at the mighty Steelmen, Corby Town, always a tough game against them, so here's to an exciting start and hoping it continues. WELL DONE LADS. next season the under 15's will not progress to under 16's instead they have gone srtaight to under 18's playing for our new coach Martin Macilvaney in the western league of the Northants Senior Youth League Matt and Pete have decided to step down for a well earned rest but will continue with the commitee and will still be around the club, we thank them for the hard work they have put in with this group of lads for the last several years, we hope they enjoy their rest and will come back invigourated ready to take on a new side in the club. We also welcome Tom Keyes and his Sunday side our second adult side they will be playing in the Northants Sunday Combination mornign kick offs so if your about on a Sunday morning pop along. This Thursday, 5th July up at our Lowther Ground our under 18's take on Corby Town in a pre season friendly, come along it's free entry and refreshments will be available kick off is 7.00pm After a long season the Under 18's finshed with quite some style, losing 0-1 to Corby Town in a game tha lads really dominated hitting everything except the back of the net, the Killer blow coming in the 90th minute, there was no coming back from that, their last game was at our near neighbours from Burton Latimer Kettering Town, the lads fought really hard in what we all thought was their best performance all season pushing the League winners all the way that in the end Kettering Town where lucky to get a draw, we felt we had the better chances and the better play. Now to a sad note we say goodbye to the Coaches Gary Peasnall and Jim Prior who have decided enough for the time being, Gary having his work keeping him away and Jim already running two teams, we thanks them for all their hard work and hope that they will return after a well deserved rest rerady to help the club move forward.
