Ready to Wear Colour Finger allows one to pick a colour, and find all the designers and their Ready to Wear -collections that have incorporated the colour of your choice. You are then able to go through these collections and see the garments in your choice of colour. The application can also be used to find colours by designer, e.g. one could find all the colours present in the Calvin Klein Ready to Wear Spring/Summer Collection 2010. The demo was built in Flash, featuring only a limited number of designers and collections. I decided to channel this interesting contradiction by working towards a proposal for the launch of a new editorial publication. This included designing, branding and generating visual contents for a unique magazine. The outcome is Burt: a niche art/culture/fashion publication set to celebrate the coming together of beauty and ugliness. Whether it is the awkward, absurd, vulnerable, flawed, mundane or unconventional – Burt is there to see the beauty in it, and lift if it for others to enjoy. None of this is handed to you straight. The editorial narrative is comprised of deliberately confusing mix of different forms of literary art; prepare to be left perplexed.
