Sean Clees Fellowship Awards and Other Group Member Milestones April 15, 2020 Congratulations to Sean Clees, who was awarded both the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF GRFP) and National Defense Science and Engineering Fellowship (NDSEG) for this year. It is an amazing honor! Congratulations also to the class of third years, who also all passed qualifying exams over the past academic year (Efaine Chang, Ajay Krish, Peter Finch, Wey-Wey Su). Overview The Hanson Research Group has been actively involved in research at the High Temperature Gasdynamics Laboratory at Stanford University for over 40 years, resulting in over 100 Ph.Ds being awarded. The group has published over 1000 technical papers, contributing to advances in shock wave physics and chemistry, laser spectroscopy, advanced optical diagnostics and sensors, chemical kinetics, combustion science and advanced propulsion. Teaching and research activities are supervised by Professor Ron Hanson, assisted by senior research scientists Dr. David Davidson, Dr. Christopher Strand, and Dr. Jay Jeffries.
