About UsFutures for Women is a registered charity (No. 313700) formerly known as the Society for Promoting the Training of Women.Our charity was established in 1859 by suffragist Jessie Boucherett to encourage women towards economic independence through employment and this objective still underpins our activities today.  Please visit our History page to find out how our charity has developed over the past 160 years. On 8 March 2021, International Women s Day, Futures for Women announced two new funding programmes; up to 20 grants of £500 each to women 19 years + studying further education courses at Grimsby Institute and an interest-free loan programme for women studying post-graduate degrees or professional training courses. Grants for female students at Grimsby Institute Women of 19 years + studying a further education course at Grimsby Institute who are in need of additional funding to cover the cost of course fees or general hardship are invited to apply for a grant of up to £500 from Futures for Women.  The grants are being funded from the Boucherett Fund, named in memory of the Futures for Women founder, Jessie Boucherett.    Jessie s family lived in North Willingham, Lincolnshire and her grandfather, Ayscoghe  Boucherett, was MP for Grimsby between 1796 and 1803 and oversaw the opening of the town s first dock.    The grants are being administered by the Bursary Department of Grimsby Institute.  To receive an application form please contact bursary@grimsby.ac.uk  or telephone 01472 311222.  Closing date for applications is 30 September 2021.Interest-free loan programmeInterest-free loans of up to £1000 are available to women studying a post-graduate degree or a professional training course which will lead to their desired career.   Our application window for 2021 has now closed.  Further information on when a new window opens will be posted in due course.  Courtesy of Pim Chu via UnsplashHow You Can HelpBecome a supporter of Futures for WomenMake a donation which may be covenantedFundraise or donate via our Virgin Giving fundraising pageMake provision in your WillBecome a Trustee Contact us
