COTTON LOPS STUD CLOSUREWe would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the past 8 years.Hi, my name is Anita.I started Cotton Lops back in 2009. Starting with two beautiful bunnies Poppy and Humphrey, both purebred mini lops. After falling in love with the beautiful mini lop breed, I joined the RBAV (rabbit breeders association of Victoria). Since then my joy in breeding and exhibiting these delightful creatures has grown. Over the yearsI have owned a variety of rabbit breeds, but the miniature lop will always be my favourite. I am now a member of both the RBAV and the NCRC (Northern Country Rabbit Club) and enjoy showing my bunnies and spending days talking to fellow bunny lovers and exhibitors. Cotton Lopshas recently relocated to the Barossa Valley in South Australia, we are currently looking into joining someclubs and continue withshowing both out bunnies and guinea pigs.Besidesbeing so very cute, the Mini Lop Rabbit is my favourite bunny becausethey are so sweet and cuddly. These rabbits will stay smaller than aregular rabbit and they make a great pet for children. The Mini LopRabbit is lively and smart. Not only are they very "huggable"and playful, they are easily litter-box trained. They make greatcompanions that like to interact and appreciate affection, and areoften described as being like a pet dog. TheMini lop has a maximum weight of 1.6 kg. It has a dense and soft coatand drooping ears. (Lops are born with upright ears which soften anddroop as they age). There are over 40 different colours and patternsin the mini lops worldwide, however not all of these are available inAustralia. Mini lops are a relatively new rabbit breed and have only beenavailable in Australia since 1998. The Mini lops in Australia todayhave been bred from rabbits which originated in America and Englandand arrived via breeders in New Zealand. They have been developedfrom the Lop which is one of the oldest rabbit varieties. The term"Lop" stems from the characteristic ears of this rabbitwhich are extremely long and wide and hang either side of the head,touching the ground.<<< Thank you for your visit >>>
