Ormond Beach is named after James Ormond I, an Anglo-Irish-Scotch sea captain commissioned by Spain to bring Franciscan settlers to the east coast of Florida. Ormond Beach experienced a expansion in tourism after the Civil War when the east coast of Florida became popular for the wealthy seeking to escape northern winters.

Ormond Beach can be reached by air through commercial airlines at Daytona Beach International Airport, Orlando International Airport, or Jacksonville International Airport. The first Saturday of every month, Destination Daytona hosts Florida's Largest Bike Night at the Daytona Harley-Davidson. Hop on your hog, hang out and enjoy live music, beer, barbecue and ice cream specials. All bikes are welcome and every month has a different theme.

The Ormond Beach Farmers Market open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays at Rockefeller Gardens, Ormond Beach. Free parking is available at The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive, or north of Granada Boulevard.
