IRONMAN Group Oceania, Managing Director, Mr Dave Beeche announced that the fourth edition of Velothon Sunshine Coast, scheduled to take place in July 2020, has been postponed.
Mr Beeche said there are numerous factors at work in making the difficult decision to postpone next year’s event.
“We felt it necessary to take a step back to fully investigate the optimal format of Velothon Sunshine Coast that works best for our competitors and importantly, for the local communities that host us throughout the event.”
“In three years, Velothon Sunshine Coast has established itself as an outstanding 3-day stage race experience for amateur cyclists that enjoys great community support. Its growing reputation and the interest in this event has made this a very tough decision.”
“While the postponement will be disappointing to those who have already expressed their interest in the 2020 event, as organisers we believe the opportunity for a review will ensure that Velothon Sunshine Coast is given the best possible chance of success and growth,” he said.
