What We Do
Anacostia Riverkeeper works to protect and restore the Anacostia River. We create opportunities for people to enjoy, learn about, connect with, and care for the river.
Protect
From water quality monitoring to advocacy work, we work constantly to ensure a swimmable and fishable Anacostia.
Restore
Through boots on the ground restoration work like trash cleanups, green infrastructure, and stormwater education, we hope to continue the Anacostia down the path to resurgence.
Connect
Our Boat Tour and Friday Night Fishing programs ensure that everyone has free and easy access to enjoy our shared river.

Clean Water Counts
Contaminants enter the food chain and affect humans and wildlife alike.
Send Photos
When possible, include photos of what you see to help ARK and investigators build a clearer picture of what caused the pollution. Once we know where challenges are occurring, we can track their frequency and identify possible locations for concerted action.
