Project Highlights
ENERGY AFRICA COMPACT2016. ASD was hired by DAI to develop the energy Africa Compacts for Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia. These Energy Compacts were developed between DfID and the governments of Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia respectively. SCALING UP WATER PUMPS
2017. ASD was hired by the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity (MoWIE) to identify the major governing factors that affect the scaling up and sustainability of solar and wind water pumping systems in Ethiopia in a conclusive report. IDENTIFYING SUITABLE MINI-GRIDS
2016. ASD provided technical support to Ubuntu Power in the identification of suitable mini-grid locations in Kenya. ASD accompanied the Ubuntu Power team to the site visits and assisted in the collection of technical and social data. POWERING AGRICULTURE
2015-2018. ASD won this project alongside Ariya Capital Group under the Powering Agriculture; An Energy Grand Challenge for Development (PAEGC) – a global funding competition focused on supporting new and sustainable approaches to accelerate the development and deployment of clean energy solutions for increasing agriculture productivity. OFF-GRID DIGITAL TELEVISION SERVICES
2016. Azuri Technologies hired ASD to led a top-down market survey of digital services to support the introduction of a solar-powered TV product for Tanzania and Kenya. ELECTRIFICATION OF HEALTH CENTERS
2014-2016. ASD undertook a comprehensive mapping, baseline study and development of a sustainable maintenance and management program for off-grid energy systems at health facilities in four countries for the United Nationals Foundation (UNF). This also involved a broader engagement of national and local stakeholders in the project process. 1MW SOLAR PV SYSTEM
