Dear Participants, Sponsors and Organizers of Mark Dulberg's Day of Dingers,

A month has elapsed since June 26, 2022, when we commemorated our dear friend and long-time B'nai Brith Canada member, Mark Dulberg, with a day of tribute we called Mark Dulberg's Day of Dingers.

What a memorable day it was for family, friends and the community as a whole! And, as the Director of Sports for B'nai Brith Canada, it was a day I personally will never forget. We pulled the community together to celebrate the life of Mark. We had individuals making friends with new teammates, little children watching their parents play ball while enjoying a hot dog or two. Kids playing in a jumpy castle and riding an oh-so-fun little train throughout Irving W. Chapley Park.

The success of this day would not have been made possible without the support of our many sponsors and the dedication and collaboration of the MD FUND. Mark's friends are second to none!

On behalf of B'nai Brith, I would like to thank the following dedicated members:Richard Behrman, Jordan Elias, Aaron Schacter, Justin Mayers, Daniel Kaplan, Brian Gordon, Avi Yurman and Adam Bartman.

One of our outstanding B'nai Brith volunteers has summed up the day in this eloquent report, which I wouldlike to share with you in the next four paragraphs:

Volunteering at the Mark DulbergDay of Dingers was a day I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I was greeted at 8 o'clock in the morning by the smiling group of friends who arranged this day in Mark's honour. The smile on everyone's faces did not fade the entire day. Through the rain and the heat, you could feel nothing but love from players, volunteers, and attendees.

Families were able to gather outside and watch the softball games, enjoy music, treats, and a train that drove through the park. Families who didn't know each other prior were able to sit and bond over their memories of Mark or to share their happiness over a fun day in the park. Kids were thrilled with all of the activities available, while still watching family and friends participate in the tournament.

While I didn't know Mark personally, it was easy to feel how loved he was. The event was born out of love from his friends, and over 300 people gathered to share and enjoy memories of him. When speaking with Mark's mom, I mentioned the weather for the day was calling for rain. She said that it won't, as Mark won't let it. And sure enough, the rain held out for nearly the entire day, except for five or so minutes as a way to cool down the softball players.

Attending the tournament was an honour and participating as a volunteer was a pleasure. I wish all events I attend moving forward will share the same love and friendship as felt at the Mark Dulberg Day of Dingers.
