My music videos: 'M' is for Magic Missile and I Put My Low Stat both were accepted for showings at the fourth annual Origins Film Festival. Origins Game Fair runs from June 12-16.

I am thrilled to announce that I will be Music Guest of Honor at both Orycon and ChessieCon this year!

I Put My Low Stat, the Music Video has been selected to be included in the Origins Game Fair Film festival for 2018! I had such a great time last year going to the film festival panels, meeting film makers, and watching the other gaming movies. It’s going to be great!

I Put My Low Stat, the Music Video has been selected to be included in the Origins Game Fair Film festival!

The music for this was recorded at Mystic Fig Studio by Jeff Bohnhoff and features the talents of Maya Bohnhoff, Jeff Bohnhoff, Michelle "vixy" Dockrey, and Sunnie Larsen!

Actors/Actresses in the video include Sean Jaco, Caleb Jaco, Shelby Jaco, Andrew Foxx, Wesley Crowell, Simon Crowell, and me (Mary Crowell)!

The song "I Put My Low Stat" is part of a gaming album I released in 2012, Acolytes of the Machine & Other Gaming Stories. The song has also won the ENWorld Battle of the Bards (2012) and a Pegasus Award for best song of gaming (2012). It also won a Kazoo Award at ConChord Filk Convention (2015).

The gorgeous album art for the album was created by Starr Weems de Graffenried, and the graphic design for the album was brilliantly done by Misty Granade.

Greetings! I am Mary Crowell, a geeky musician from north Alabama who is very active in the filk community. When I am not teaching piano I love to write songs about mythology, gaming, beagles, pomegranates, and lately—running. I also enjoy making short quirky midi compositions and arranging piano music, violin and piano duets, and marimba duets, and more!

I have two solo albums: Courting My Muse and Acolytes of the Machine & Other Gaming Stories available through CDBaby and bandcamp.com. Battle of the Bards: Victory is Mine! Muahahaha!

At the beginning of November, 2012, I entered two songs in E.N. World's "Battle of the Bards." There were four separate heats culminating in one final heat. I am excited to announce that I Put My Low Stat is the winner!!! The prize is an animated video of the winning song. I can't wait to see what they create for it! Thank you, E.N. World!

The album was recorded and engineered by Jeff Bohnhoff of Mystic Fig Studios and created with a lot of help from my friends. The gorgeous artwork was commissioned from the fabulously talented Starr Weems! Misty Granade designed the album packaging and put together the layout; her deft skills are greatly appreciated!

I would like to thank all the people in the gaming, filk, and science fiction communities who have encouraged me to record my music and inspired me with their own music, writing, personalities, and art. I’ve learned so much from you. I’ve come a long way since my first GAFilk in 2001!
