Who I am

AMGA Certified Rock Guide

AMGA Apprentice Alpine Guide

AMGA Certified Single Pitch Instructor

AMGA SPI Assistant Program Provider

In 2008, I began to pursue a career in the mountains. While earning my Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, I developed a profound love of mountain sports. Developing curriculum and experiences with the ASU Outdoor Program gave me insight into what taking people into the mountains could be and this inspired me to eventually work with the North Carolina Outward Bound School in 2011. In 2012, I formally began my guiding education with the American Mountain Guides Association by taking the Single Pitch Instructor Course and subsequently earned my SPI certification in the fall of the same year. In 2018, I permanently moved to the western USA to pursue my IFMGA certification. I am now an AMGA certified Rock Guide and Apprentice Alpine Guide with plans to complete the alpine and ski programs for IFMGA certification by 2025. Living in Salt Lake City, UT I continue to guide across the western USA and create online educational content to support the climbing community.
