Lansdowne Folk Club presents The Black Feathers, an award-winning duo from Gloucestershire in England on Thursday, September 22, 2022.

Held at the Twentieth Century Club, 84 S. Lansdowne Avenue, Lansdowne, PA, doors open at 7:00 PM and show begins at 7:30 PM.  Tickets are $20 when purchased in advance online or with an advanced phone reservation and $25 without an advance reservation.

 The Lansdowne Folk Club is adhering to all CDC recommended practices for preventing the spread of Covid-19 within the venue.  We are seating at our full indoor capacity, require full Covid-19 vaccinations (honor system) and masks are encouraged but not mandatory. 

The ability to write songs that are both modern and ancient is a rare thing. The product of an arcane art of weaving in traditional influences so thoroughly that they become the warp and weft of fresh creations.

The Black Feathers, made up of Ray Hughes and Sian Chandler, are two such talents. They first became aware of the magic between them while collaborating on several musical projects, becoming The Black Feathers and life partners in 2012.

Americana, Folk, and Acoustic Indie Rock sensibilities coexist comfortably in their musical world, with Hughes’ guitar work buoying the kind of harmonies often only heard in family bands. Their music quickly draws the interest of listeners, but it is the stage chemistry that will keep them riveted.

Having already built up a loyal following in the UK, The Black Feathers have been spreading their wings across the US. They have performed at Philadelphia Folk Festival and Americana Fest and have also been awarded official showcases at the Northeast Regional and Far-West Folk Alliance conferences. With a new single and a live album in the pipeline, these are exciting times for what FATEA Magazine refers to as “a duo of undeniable talent”.  Check them out at https://theblackfeathers.com.

 Parking in front of the 20th Century Club is no longer available.  We suggest that our patrons park on the side streets near the Club or at the Septa train station lot two blocks away.  Street parking is available on Lansdowne Court (adjacent to the 20th Century Club) or on Dudley Ave, (across Lansdowne Ave. from the 20th Century Club).  Handicap parking* is behind the building.

*There is one ADA designated parking spot in the area behind the building, but we can set aside additional handicapped parking if you notify us in advance by email.  Also, there is a wheelchair lift available near that parking area; please let us know in the email if you require the lift as well.  Lfolkclub@gmail.com

Founded in 1993, the Lansdowne Folk Club is a 501(c) (3) all volunteer non-profit corporation dedicated to presenting folk, acoustic and blues music.
