I have always dreamed of owning a concert level classical guitar. The Alhambra Linea Professional Spruce fulfills my dream! The sound of this guitar is simply magnificent. I'm amazed at its projection and different tonal qualities that I can create using vibrato, or playing over the sound hole or near the bridge. I was fortunate to be able to visit Geoff at his home, wearing masks and social distancing. I mentioned prior to the visit that there were six guitars in which I was interested. When I arrived, each guitar was sitting on a stand in Geoff's living room tuned up and ready to play. I can't say enough about how great it was to deal with Geoff. His level of courtesy, friendliness, insights on different guitars, and customer service is second to none. While all of the guitars I played were of high quality, the Alhambra Linea Professional I chose really stood out. The toughest decision was choosing between the Alhambra cedar and spruce top. For me, the spruce top projects a bit more loudly without compromising the beautiful tonal quality. As I've had the chance to play, I grow to love this guitar more with each passing day. There is one additional thought I'd like to share. I'm 70 years old and have severe arthritis, including in my fingers. Proper guitar setup for me is critical. In fact, it's important for anyone purchasing a guitar. I asked Geoff if he could adjust the action to a lower and more comfortable playing level. After I selected the Alhambra, Geoff took the guitar into his work room and put on a new set of strings. He also set the guitar up as I had requested. When he brought the guitar back about 15 mintes later, the difference in the action was like night and day. The setup was perfect! I've read a number of positive reviews on this site about Geoff's ability to set up a guitar. I add my thanks as well since proper guitar setup was one of my primary reasons for choosing XGuitars. I also find the Alhambra ErgoNeck extremely comfortable to play. It's more sleek and a thinner neck than other guitars I've played. It makes the left hand position much easier for playing. The ErgoNeck is a major plus that I wan't expecting. Many thanks to Geoff and XGuitars. Dealing with Geoff is a pleasure. I highly recommend him and his fine selection of superb classical guitars. I reached out to Geoff for a string replacement recommendation for my newly purchased Kremona Romida Cedar. He suggested the Savarez 540J's high tension. I was a little reluctant to crank up the tension but thought I'd give it a try. I couldn't be happier. The strings that came with the Kremona were fine but these Savarez strings really cranked up the resonance, especially in the trebles. I also noticed that the trebles, which are carbon, settled in faster than the bass strings. Really happy with this set and plan to order more in the future. Slawomir Podsiedlik 10/07/2020 Gitano Guitar Support - Flamenco or Classical Great Savarez High Tension Nylon String Set Tried these high tension strings on my Alhambra 9P. I wanted to try the New Cristal nylon trebles and Cantiga Premium basses, and this set has both. The trebles and basses are extremely well balanced; the transition from the D string to the G string is quite good and very consistent after many hours of playing. The G string may be the best I have ever heard. The basses are brilliant, articulate, and loud. The trebles are brighter than the rectified ones in the Savarez Yellow Card set. The Cantiga Premium basses raise the price of the set quite a bit, and honestly, I think the HT basses sound fine on my guitar. The Cantiga Premium basses are also very stiff; the high tension feel is great, and something I prefer. But I had a hard time tying the E and A string to the bridge block on the Alhambra 9P. Since the bridge block on your guitar may be different, I wouldn’t avoid them because of that though. All around great set of strings, but a little pricey for me. Sherman Nelson 10/05/2020 Savarez 510CJP New Cristal Cantiga Premium High Tension Classical Guitar Strings Reliable traditional rectified strings I have been using Savarez Yellow Card strings on a 1973 Ramirez Concert 1a for decades. These extra high tension traditional nylon strings work well on the Ramirez with its long scale length and darker tone. I like the feel, security, and tone of the mechanically rectified strings on this guitar. These traditional Savarez strings, once premium priced, are now one of their cheaper strings and consistently high quality. XGuitars has the best price that I have found and very fast service. The support is very adjustable and, as a new player, I am finding it easy to experiment with different guitar angles and playing positions. The installation went smoothly - I went very slowly and practiced a few times after watching a couple of videos and reading the instructions several times. As an installation tip, I found that slightly loosening the external support hinge points using the included Allen wrench provided more freedom of movement and made the initial set-up a little easier. The support is quite a nice piece of craftsmanship, by the way, with obvious attention to mechanical design details and wood finishing.
