Piedras Blancas Light Station provides a glimpse into our nation's past when lighthouses served a vital role inmaritime navigation. Today it is managed as a historic park and wildlife sanctuary.The light station is part of the federally designated Piedras Blancas Light Station Outstanding Natural Areaand theCalifornia Coastal National Monument. The tower and some support buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. VISITATION TO THE LIGHT STATION IS LIMITED TO SATURDAY MORNINGS ONLY. YOU MUST HAVE A RESERVATION.You must purchase advance tickets online. We are limiting our Saturday visitation to 30 people total. Visitation to the Piedras Blancas Light Station is byreservation only at www.recreation.gov .Access to the light station will temporarily be limited to our beautiful scenic trail.All buildings, including the lighthouse, will be closed due to health concerns surrounding COVID-19.We encourage all of our visitors to bring their own binoculars to better enjoy views of elephant seals and other wildlife.Please wear a mask while visiting the light station.We are offering access on Saturdays only, but are closed 11/28, 12/26 and 1/2.Please follow instructions on recreation.gov for meeting time and location for your visit to the Piedras Blancas Light Station.Local managers are committed to the health and safety of recreational visitors and our staff.
