Why am I running for the position of Director on the ICCRC BoardI believe that we, as professionals, have a long way to go to gain the rightful position in the industry and the respect we deserve. We are in a unique position in the world of regulated professionals. We are self-regulated. That means that the world is watching our every step. And we all know that it’s not a benevolent look. There are many groups and individuals that would love us to fail, for various reasons. It is up to us to prove them wrong.I believe that I have a lot to offer to the Council and to you, my colleagues. Not only in the terms of skills and knowledge but also in terms of personal integrity, honesty, unwavering faith in our profession and a deep knowledge of the issues that plague us – unregulated consultants, dishonest consultants, unrealistic expectations of new consultants, negative media attention, hostile attitude from government officials, continuously changing environment in which we work… we could go on and on.I want to work on behalf of all honest and hardworking consultants, bringing us closer to the ultimate goal – to be a respected and accepted profession. I want to contribute to the hard work of those colleagues who are already serving the Council, whether it’s on the Board of Directors or on various committees.I am 61 years old. I have a deep desire to spend my last professional years working for the benefit of the entire profession. And if my contribution brings us a few steps closer to our dream, I will consider my time well spent.
