Inspector General of PoliceIGP Abubakar Adamu was Born on November 9, 1961. He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1986. He has a Bachelor s Degree (Hons) in Geography.He served diligintly in various Police commands and formations over the years. He was a Deputy Commissioner of Police in Ekiti state and had served at the Interpol where he served for over a decade. He was President of Interpol for five years, rose to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).He served as the Commissioner Of Police in Enugu State and Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone Five, in Benin, Edo State, southern Nigeria.He was also at one time a Director of peacekeeping operations. He is a former State Police Commissioner in Enugu and was an AIG in charge Zone 5. Department of Finance and AdministrationThis is the highest administrative organ of the Nigeria Police responsible for the finance and administrative of the Nigeria Police which also includes the Force Education Unit. The Department of Finance and Administration is headed by a Deputy Inspector-General of Police . The Department is currently headed by Ag. DIG USMAN ALKALI BABA.Department of Finance and AdministrationThe Police authority welcomed the idea and by 1986 a Force Education Directorate was created to cater for the welfare of both serving and retired Police officers as well as the general public who wishes to enroll their children. The schools growth and acceptance within both the Police and the Public was encouraging, therefore more schools were later established nationwide and the Force decided to establish a Directorate for Force Education in the Department of Finance and Administration to be headed by a Deputy Commissioner of Police in the year 1990.
