The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was established by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in 1988. Its main objective was to assess scientific, technical and socio-economic information relevant to the understanding of human induced climate change, potential impacts of climate change and options for mitigation and adaptation. The IPCC has completed assessment reports, developed methodology guidelines for national greenhouse gas inventories, special reports and technical papers. The IPCC National Greenhouse Gas Inventories Programme was managed from1991 by the IPCC WG I in close collaboration with the Organisation forEconomic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the International EnergyAgency (IEA) until its transfer to the IPCC's Task Force on NationalGreenhouse Gas Inventories (TFI) based in Japan in 1999. Inventory Software Ver.2.691, which is the fixed version of Ver.2.69, has been released. The presentation files of the TFI at COP25 are available on the TFI Presentation page. Inventory Software Ver.2.69, which implemented Tier 2 methods for most categories under Energy, IPPU and Waste Sectors as well as Agriculture categories under AFOLU Sector, has been released. The SBSTA - IPCC Special Event and the IPCC-TFI Side Event were held at the 50th Session of Subsidiary Bodies of UNFCCC (SB42) in Bonn, Germany. Corrected chapters are Chapter 3, 4 in Volume 2 (Energy) and Chapter 6 in Volume 5 (Waste).
