In this particular case however, one of the primary topics of the book is EPUB creation, thus making the EPUB and Kindle versions of the book subject to greater scrutiny.Per the book publishing contract, the digital versions of Interactive InDesign CC were the responsibility of Focal Press and were created by them in conjunction with Amazon without any involvement by the author.The print version of the book has a rather elaborate layout that does not lend itself to automatic EPUB conversion and, in a rather ironic twist, it provides a perfect example of what can happen when the extra care described in the book is not employed to correct for EPUB idiosyncrasies. The prefix for each of the exercise files should read ex29_3.Chapter 21, Exercise 21.4: When exercise 21.4 was originally conceived, InDesign did not automatically populate the metadata title tag that is required for EPUB validation. While the exercise is still useful in that it walks you through steps to validate your EPUBs and to manually enter your preferred EPUB title, InDesign now automatically populates the title tag using the document file name. When you perform an EPUB export from an InDesign book file, the name of the book file is used to populate the metadata title tag. If the EPUB is instead generated from a single InDesign file, the metadata title tag is populated with the name of the InDesign file.
