Wallowa Valley Arts Council Promoting Emerging Artists of all Mediums in the Wallowas For thirty-eight years, the Wallowa Valley Arts Council was run by vigilant volunteers who helped  bring a variety of visual and performing arts to Wallowa County, including the Wallowa Valley Festival of the Arts. In 2019 the Council merged with the Josephy Center, creating wonderful opportunities for the community.  Together we support ongoing programs and events, act as an incubator and fiduciary for budding artists and non-profits, and develop new programming for Wallowa County.To contact us, write [email protected] Programs Services Fiscal Sponsorship We act as a Fiscal Sponsor for projects and artists that need a non-profit 501(c) 3 to help them apply for grants, ask for donations and receive sponsorships. Organizations and projects that we sponsor include the Ruby Peak Film Festival, The Haunted House Project and the Wallowa County Cultural Trust. In this role, we aid these organizations with fiscal responsibilities, but have no role in decision making when it comes to their projects. Cultural Trust Coalition The Wallowa County Cultural Trust Coalition was developed for the purpose of awarding State of Oregon grant money to organizations and individuals within Wallowa County whose endeavors promote culture within the county. Applications open every Fall. Ruby Peak Film Festival Founded in 2013, Ruby Peak Film Festival's 48 hour competition supports a platform for local filmmakers to create and share their films with the community. This Eastern Oregon festival with a two-day completion window, and open submission, includes great yearly prizes! Student participation encouraged! Premier occurs at The OK Theatre. Patron Arts Scholarship A yearly fund for emerging artists of under-represented mediums. This scholarship opportunity hopes to help locals take their art to new heights and gain awareness in our community as an engaging participant in our local, art world. The application opens the Spring. Funds are distributed in the Summer of each year.
