POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO VIRUS LAWSOur Square Dance Club JVC Square Dance at Carrickalinga House Victor Harbor is having it s 6th Birthday Dance at the Lutheran Church Hall on Adelaide Road. We will welcome any member of the public to come along and see what modern Square Dancing is like at no cost We are a fun and friendship group Any one who wishes to do so can have a try at dancing with us on the day. I will put on a couple of intro dances on the day. JVC Square Dance has been travelling well for 4 weeks this year most of the time we have had a full square and have been relearning some more common movements I have been sneaking in a few extras just to keep everyone on their toes. We do have to thank Carl and Karen for coming all the way from Adelaide to help us along new dancers are welcome at any time no experience necessary We just teach you to walk to music that is all square dancing is. At our group nobody makes mistakes some just don t do what was intended but that just makes more fun for us the world needs more smiles. We have had a much needed break over the Christmas New Year period.We will be back to dancing on Tuesday 4th February at 1.30pm.Carrickalinga HouseSee map on the home page.The first day will be just gentle dancing to slowly get back into the feel of dancing.New dancers welcome no experience necessary.See you there.John V Casey Due to a family emergency in Brisbane I have to apologise for any inconvenience my children do come first. Tuesday Afternoon Square Dancing is in recess until 6th August Jacqui I are on a trip to Alice Springs. Hope to see some new dancers arrive after our return Happy Dancing.Paddlesteamers is still operating in the same hall on Friday Nights. Tuesday this week we had just one square. I had to make up the square myself for the first dance and I nearly did not manage it. I had to make the Sides do most of the work. The nWilfred turned up to save me and we were able to go over some more moves with 4 men and 4 ladies thank you to Faye from Paddle Steamers for helping us out. This week Paddle Steamers will be dancing at Carrickalinga House on Friday night as there may be more dancers coming from Adelaide. The free dance on Saturday afternoon will also be at Carrickalinga House at 1.30pm JVC Square Dance had Wonderful first day back this year on 5th February with a visit from Karen, Carl and Maarty. With no new dancers in attendance we spent the whole day going through as many movements as I could remember and all the dancers had a wonderful day. On 12th February we had a drop in numbers and were only able to dance a mini square – but a number of movements were worked on to learn the full definition implications. Jacqui and I also visited Paddle Steamers and danced in the side room where the floor is not so sticky. Happy Dancing Everyone Jacqueline and John.
