Bowl lined with aluminium foilHot water1 tablespoon baking soda1 tablespoon salt1 tablespoon dishwashing liquid (apparently works without this as well, only found out after)
Steps:
Pour baking soda, salt dishwashing liquid into the bowl lined with alumimium foiladd hot water, let it fizzleplace jewelry into the bowl making sure they all touch the aluminium foilwait for 10-15mins.remove, wash, scrub with toothbrush if needed, dry the jewelry
Supposedly the aluminium and mixturecreates a chemical process that removes tarnishing from silver. Explained by SciFun.org:
The tarnish-removal method used in this experiment uses a chemical reaction to convert the silver sulfide back into silver. Many metals in addition to silver form compounds with sulfur. Some of them have a greater affinity for sulfur than silver does. Aluminum is such a metal. In this experiment, the silver sulfide reacts with aluminum. In the reaction, sulfur atoms are transferred from silver to aluminum, freeing the silver metal and forming aluminum sulfide.
I threw in some silver, gold, gold plated over silver, and some costume jewelry as well just to test and see if it works.
The "before". Only the roman numeral rings is gold plated over 925 silver. The rest are 925 silver or gold.
Like a witch's cauldron...make my jewelry pretty again!
The "After". Biggest difference is the roman numerals ring, but the gold plating is much lighter now than it originally was.
Results: Works fine on 925 silver gold. The gold plated over 925 silver ended up looking a lot lighter than the original. The costume jewelry was the same. No changes (no pics also, forgot to take). 10/10 would do again to clean silver and gold jewelry. Would omit the dishwashing liquid next time. :)

Di1 comments Dec 8, 2015 DIY Bedak Sejuk ("cold powder")Bedak sejuk is a traditional powder made from fermented rice. The name bedak sejuk is Malay for cold powder and called so because it has a cooling effect on your skin when you use it.
Usually you take a small chunk of bedak sejuk and mix it with some water to form a paste.. then you can either spread it across any area of your skin or pile a concentrated amount onto an annoying pimple to dry it up. As the paste dries, it gives off a cooling effect which is really nice in our hot and humid weather. The powder is very drying as well so not really recommended for people with dry skin, but its great for people with oily skin! :)
Normally my grandma or grandaunts are the ones who make their own bedak sejuk so I thought I should try learning how to make it myself. Im documenting the process here and sharing this with anyone who is interested to try it out as well.
Personally I prefer homemade bedak sejuk over the commercially available ones. ;)
What you need:
A big enough container
1-2kg of rice (I used 2kg to make a bigger batch)
Water
Important: The rice must be a high grade plain rice, not fragrant rice.

She's a 2 month+ peke pup and we have been spending most of our time bonding with her as well as crate training/house breaking her. We took about 3 months to train Chanel (our older peke) but we think this little rascal might take a bit longer.
She's super adorable, very smart and FEARLESS! Seriously. Chanel took a LONG time before she could go up and down staircases. This little rascal has been with us since the 2nd of November 2014 (a week) and she can already make her way up and down the stairs! It took a few days before Chanel could accept her and now during playtime the both of them play till they run outta breath.
