As a core standard, the CHS describes the essential elements of principled, accountable and high-quality humanitarian aid. It is avoluntaryandmeasurablestandard. The CHS is the result of aglobal consultation process. It draws together key elements of existing humanitarian standards and commitments. TheCHS Guidance Notes Indicatorsis a supplement to the CHS. The guidance provides clarification on the Key Actions and Organisational Responsibilities in the CHS and examines some of the practical challenges that may arise when applying the CHS.
