Scop i obiective Revista Contributii Botanice publica articole stiintifice originale si sinteze din domeniile sistematicii vegetale, fitosociologiei, fiziologiei si morfologiei plantelor, ecologiei vegetale, ecologiei populatiilor vegetale si ecosistemelor, fitogeografiei, fitopatologiei, microbiologiei, paleobotanicii, conservarii plantelor si biologiei celulare/moleculare vegetale. Lucrarile de taxonomie, flora si fitosociologie vor fi supuse procesului de revizuire doar daca au relevanta pentru paradigmele sau teoriile noi din domeniile stiintifice mentionate anterior si, daca nu prezinta o abordare pur descriptiva.Principalul scop al revistei este de a promova rezultatele valoroase din domeniile mai sus amintite.Obiectivele stabilite vizeaza: îmbunatatirea calitatii continutului stiintific si formei grafice; extinderea geografica a provenientei autorilor; mentinerea periodicitatii aparitiei acestei reviste; promovarea ei în baze de date internationale; mentinerea accesului online gratuit la articole (full-text).
