Change is a cross-campus collaboration bringing together faculty andstudents from the University of Washington with the wider community tocollaborate on and explore the challenges of developing technology inthe context of positive social change. The change organization seeksto make connections between researchers, outside organizations, andthe public to inspire the development of new capabilities aligned withthe interests of those most in need.Participating OrganizationsThe Technology Social Change Group(TASCHA) at the University of Washington Information Schoolexplores the design, use, and effects of information and communicationtechnologies in communities facing social and economicchallenges.The mission of Global WAChis to make scientific discoveries, cultivate leaders, andbridge disciplines to advance the tightly connected health andwell-being of women, adolescents, and children.The International Training andEducation Center for Health (I-TECH) is a global network thatworks with local partners to develop skilled health care workers andstrong national health systems in resource-limited countries. I-TECHpromotes local ownership to sustain effective health systems.The Information andCommunication Technology for Development (ICTD) Lab in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science is aninter-disciplinary group that explores how ICTs and Computer Science can improve thelives of underserved populations in low-income regions.
