There is so much on offer at Trinity, I came here as a shy little boy and now I’m the captain of the school football team, in a high flying form and getting great levels in tests thanks to all the staff. Current Pupil The school, under the wonderfully bright and enthusiastic Head of Transition, takes great care to ensure that the transition is as easy and as stress free as is possible. Every effort is made to know the pupil before they step foot into the school. Parent Year seven was full of new and fun experiences. I made new friends and discovered subjects I never thought I would like. Current Pupil How did we do? Our three year average, 2017 - 2019, continues to show outstanding results at KS4. Of course it’s not all about the results at the end, it’s the journey they make getting there. Pupils make more progress, on average, than pupils across England between Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 4. The event took place virtually this year, hosted by our Head of KS3, Ms Baxendale. Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum awards were awarded to our students, plus a variety of special awards. Normally this much anticipated event would be held in front of a live student and staff audience. However, this year, we needed to change to an online version [ ] Although the usual Duke of Edinburgh expeditions have not been able to go ahead over the last few months, DofE Coordinator, Mr Kirsten, tells us about activities students have been doing to work towards their award: Walking dogs. Engaging in ‘couch to 5km’ runs. Baking cakes for Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. Completing online photography courses. [ ] At the end of each academic year, it is inevitable that we will say farewell to members of staff at Trinity. However, this year I would like to pay particular tributes to three of Trinity’s most senior colleagues: Mr Butt is leaving Trinity after 20 years as a Deputy Head at Trinity. [ ] The final totals for Trinity Long Distance Challenge are as follows: Tiger House travelled 802 miles to Nice, France, Springbok House travelled 885 miles to Vienna, Austria, and Wallaby House travelled 1794 miles to Longyearbyen, Norway. Congratulations go to Maple House who travelled the most miles 1951 miles to El Aaiun, Western Sahara.
