Ancestral Church ExampleNew Hanover Lutheran Church(2941 Lutheran Rd, Gilbertsville, PA 19525), 1st German Lutheran Church in America, is the American ancestral home church of the Jurg Michael Schweinhardt family.Jurg Michael 1695-1760 and his wife, Eleonara Magdalena nee Eckert 1701-1784 emigrated from Baden-Wuertemberg around Jungholzhausen to America (Pennsylvania) landing at the Port of Philadelphia in 1732.They arrived with 4 children: Eva Elisabetha Barbara 1727-1812 Georg Andreas Michael 1729-?1732 (never seen in the records again after his arrival) Johan Georg 1731-1815.Children born after their arrival and recorded in the New Hanover Lutheran Church Records were:Jurg was a Deacon of the church and is buried under the back corner.
