Birmingham City manager Lee Bowyer and his players have lost their way in the English Championship after a good start to the season. Ex-Leeds United and Newcastle United midfielder Bowyer has been a success in his first months as a Birmingham City manager.


Relegation from the English Championship was starting to look like a possibility for Birmingham City until Bowyer intervened and was able to secure the clubs safety upon his appointment in the final weeks of last season. Bowyer led Birmingham City into the playoff places at the end of the first six matches of the new Championship season but things have fallen apart in the last four games. CAN CHONG SECURE A FIRST-TEAM STATUS AFTER THIS SEASON? Posted on

English Premier League giants Manchester United are popularly known for producing some fine talents through their youth academy and they have maintained that status for decades now. They are also well known for the habit of integrating these young players into the first team and handing them debuts but while some of them will not perform up to expectations, in the long run, a lot of others will go on to live up to the hype. Over the years, the likes of Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay, and Mason Greenwood have all risen through the ranks at Old Trafford and they are currently constantly competing for places in the first team.

One of the most promising youngsters that have come out of the clubs famous academy is Tahith Chong. The young attacking midfielder is not very happy that he has not been able to permanently find his way into the first team but truth be told, its not the managers fault. Olé Gunnar Solksjaer is under pressure to win titles at United and it will be hard for him to put faith in youngsters instead of using the top players that will promise him more assured results on the pitch.

Birmingham City will have to fend off English Championship rivals Middlesbroughin their quest to sign Nottingham Forest star Sammy Ameobi according to Football Insider. Sammy Ameobi has few days left on his current deal at Nottingham Forest and hes expected to leave the club when the contract expires.

Middlesbroughwere the first club to show interest in the 29-year-old winger. The interest of the midlands club in the player was revealed by the aforementioned media portal last week. He had a loan spell at Boro while he was a Newcastle United player. Sammy Ameobi scored once in nine matches while he was on loan at the club in 2013.Birmingham City have now joined Boro in the free transfer chase for Ameobi

Birmingham City fans were stunned and also delighted with the signing of former hot prospect AlenHalilovic at the end of last year. He signed a short-term deal at the club until this summer having joined on a free transfer.

Birmingham City Looking To Snap Up Charlton Athletic Man Posted on

Birmingham City manager Lee Bowyer has made it clear that he would love to have Johnnie Jackson join him at the club as his assistant manager, according to a recent report published by London News Online. Bowyer wants Jackson to join him at St. Andrews so they could work together in making sure that they help the club witness an upturn in fortunes over the course of their tenure.

Jackson has been appointed as the interim manager on a temporary basis pending when the club will get a permanent candidate who will succeed Bowyer as the hunt continues. Since being appointed as caretaker manager, Jackson has guided his side to just one game so far and he saw his side secure a 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night in their Championship fixture. However, the result is reportedly not going to automatically confirm his long-term appointment at the club.

COVENTRY SIGN WINGER FROM BIRMINGHAM Posted on

Coventry City have completed the signing of experienced player Destiney Toussaint from Birmingham City.The winger penned a deal with Birmingham City last summer after a long injury layoff but she struggled to get into the Birmingham City starting XI in the FA Womens Super League (FAWSL).


She only made one start for the midlands club in the league this season in addition to five other appearances from the substitutes’ bench. His only start in the FAWSL came against Arsenal in December. Birmingham City lost that game 3-0 to the Gunners. Destiney Toussaint has been able to return to full fitness at Birmingham City after her long injury layoff as pointed out earlier. Birmingham City manager Carla Ward didnt give her more playing time at the club in the first half of the season and she would be hoping to enjoy more playing time at his new team, Coventry City. Her signing was officially confirmed by Coventry City earlier on Friday via their official Twitter handle.

Birmingham City have suffered a lot from lack of potency in front of goal this season, and its becoming bigger trouble than first feared as the seasons fixtures come in thick and fast. The club are looking to turn things around but wont be able to get any shot at doing that if they dont sign a proven goalscorer anytime soon.


Someone that fits such a bill is former Manchester City and Liverpool forward Mario Balotelli. The Italian is not a new name in the game. His name brings up memories of several controversies in the past. He however does offer a proven goal-scoring threat on his day.

SUNDERLAND TO HIJACK CITY TARGET Posted on

 

According to reports Sunderland is set to sign Tom Flanagan this summer. The central defender is a target for Birmingham City. City were hoping to lure the Black Cats star when the transfer window opens but it now seems the League One star would extend his deal.

Flanagan’s deal ended in June, with clubs on standby to land him on a free deal. However, coach Phil Parkinson is confident a deal will soon be struck. The player has racked up 64 appearances at Mackems since he joined in 2018 on a free transfer from Burton Albion. The well-traveled star came from the MK Dons setup, going on a lot of loan spells that include Gillingham, Barnet, Stevenage and Plymouth before he was released then he joined Burton for free.
