The Green Building Council South Africa wishes to congratulate the winners of the annual GBCSA Leadership Awards. The Awards were celebrated at the closing plenary of the annual Green Building Convention and showcase some of the tremendous people and projects making a difference in the industry.

One hundred and forty (140) buildings were certified over the past year – a record number, showing growing momentum of green building. The announcement was made during the GBCSA’s flagship Green Building Convention, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).

Jacques Groenewald is the founder and owner of ONE39 Central, he recently answered our questions to give us insight into his work, the environment and what inspires him.

Charles Drayden is a principal member at SA Modular Housing. He leads the sales and marketing team, along with Ken Puncerelli, of the LAI Design Group. He answered our questions to give us insight into his work, the environment and what inspires him.

Our work in the residential sector includes the development of rating tools that allow us to build and occupy better homes.

We additionally offer training in this sector.

All our rating tools can be used throughout the building industry, we have over 8 tools that you can tools you can choose from depending on your building type.

We also offer green building training for our rating tools as well as broader green building topics.

Our work in the public sector focuses on advocating with local and national government for better building standards, in turn creating better cities for you and me

Our education offerings are also of value to the public sector.
