Programs include Deaf Mentor Program, Club Saturday family gatherings, Family Advocacy, and IEP/IFSP Advocacy. Advocacy ServicesDCARA provides communication access assistance, independent living skills, employment services, peer counseling, information referral, advocacy services and community education that empower Deaf* people to live independent and productive lives, with full access to the rights, privileges, and opportunities available to the general public. Employment ServicesIn partnership with the State of California's Employment Development Department, DCARA provides Deaf/HH job seekers the information, resources, and tools to seek and maintain employment. Our Employment Specialists also work closely with state agencies as well as employers to ensure that our clients are successfully employed. Community Education ProgramDCARA offers training classes and programs such as U.S. Citizenship Education, Driver's Education, Parenting Education, topic-based workshop series and Job Literacy Program (in partnership with the Department of Rehabilitation.) . Training will include literacy and communication skills for community integration, employment, basic independent living skills. Interpreting ServicesSign Language interpreters for deaf people in all kinds of the environment to be able to communicate with everybody. Top-notch quality interpreters with efficient processing service. We also provide other communication accommodations such as Deaf Interpreters (CDI/DI) and any other special accommodations upon request by contacting us.
