For families experiencing domestic violence, the holidays can be especially challenging. Many survivors are living with their children in temporary emergency shelters or housing without adequate resources or joyful holiday family traditions, which is even more challenging this year, given the global pandemic. Many parents fleeing abuse do not have the means to purchase gifts for their children and often lack even basic necessities. Please join us in supporting families, spreading holiday cheer, and making the holiday brighter for 450 children and their families this year.Here are a couple of ways that you can help spread cheer:Select items from our Amazon Wish List. (preferred)Once you have purchased your item, please visit this link and let us know of your purchase so we can keep track of our member participation. Support with a gift that will enable us to purchase toys and gift cards for survivors and their families.ALL PURCHASES MUST BE MADE BY 12/15 Please inform Renatta (service@naascwdc.org) of your participation so we can be on the lookout for your generosity.  The pandemic has taken a toll on our youth, especially those in unstable housing environments. With social distancing making it even more difficult to gather with friends and family this holiday season, this will be an especially challenging year for some youth. SBY operates multiple residential facilities for youth, which offer counseling and classes that help to lead young people back to a more stable and supportive family situation, or on a path to independence and self-sufficiency. To participate in the holiday campaign please write holiday cards for their youth which will accompany the delivery of gifts. We are asking each member to write 10 cards to help us reach our chapter goal of donating a minimum of 80 cards. Please leave the card s accompanying envelope blank as the staff at Sasha Bruce will address them. We ask that the cards do not target one specific religion, as many youth practice a wide array of religions, and some are not religious at all.Creating cards is an extremely meaningful way to let our youth know they are not forgotten, and to ensure our youth feel special this holiday season. ALL CARDS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 12/14Once you have written your cards please send an email to (service@naascwdc.org) to get the address on where to send your cards or check the latest edition of the chapter s newsletter for details. A bulk donation drop off has been coordinated on behalf of NAASCWDC.   WE WANT YOU!
