Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise. Hebrews 10:35-36

My choice is to obey
to stand among Gods light
and walk in love this day.

His voice will lead the way
all through the darkest night
my choice is to obey.

To live in such a way
thats pleasing in Gods sight
I walk in love this day.

My fears are washed away
the devils lost his bite
my choice is to obey.

To listen as I pray
with open heart contrite
I walk in love this day.

To follow and not stray
Gods Word is my delight
my choice is to obey
and walk in love this day.

Poetry Type: Villanelle

Oswald Chambers said, With just the tiniest fragment of obedience, heaven opens and the profoundest truths of God are yours straight away. God will never reveal more truth about Himself until you have obeyed what you know already.

So what do we already know? We know that we are saved by grace not by our works and that we are overcomers by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. We know we are to walk in the love and the light of Jesus and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit by obeying his Word.

Chances are, the Holy Spirit has already impressed on your spirit an area of your life that needs to come under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  If you ask the Lord, He will show you what areas of your life He is calling to obedience. Empty yourself and submit to His will and you will be surprised at the heavy lifting the Lord will have you do in His strength.

I want to encourage you that there is joy on the other side of taking that hard step towards obedience. There is a deeper understanding of who God is and more wisdom to be revealed to you when you step out in obedience. Trust that if the Lord calls you to do something difficult, He is going to give you what you need to walk through it. Your burden will be lifted when you do that difficult thing that the Lord has called you to do and you will be at peace again. God Bless You Always!

Morning Star Poetry

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace. (Ephesians 1:7)

I am redeemed, my King of Kings
You carry me on eagles’ wings
I’m changing by Your grace alone
The glory of Your plan made known

Forsaking love of worldly things
I am redeemed, my King of Kings
Acknowledging iniquities
It’s only You I long to please

Christ, my Lord and my defender
Bring me to divine surrender
I am redeemed, my King of Kings
You lead me to Your living springs

To You I turn with all my soul
Relinquishing complete control
With joy and gladness my heart sings
I am redeemed, my King of Kings

Psalm 32:5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity.  I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD “— and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah

“The Lord lives! Praise to my Rock!  May God, the Rock of my salvation, be exalted!  2 Samuel 22:47

I have been called to exalt Jesus
not angels, bibles
or the canon of saints
not charismatic teachers,
or the one who preaches
I have been called to exalt Jesus
not denominations, doctrines
or theology masters
not statues of Mary
or the gal who teaches
I have been called to exalt Jesus
not sacred buildings, icons
or church traditions
not cool pastors
or fancy speeches
Just Jesus!
I have been called to exalt Jesus.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.   John 3:14-15

Steady your gaze and seek His face
Keep it simple, sweet child of grace
Trust and believe God hears your cries
Look to Christ with forgiven eyes

Venom of death, bitten within
Kills the soul with poisonous sin
Listen no more to Satan’s lies
Look to Christ with forgiven eyes

Lifting Him up, of this be sure
The risen Lord, He is the cure
Receive by faith, don’t be unwise
Look to Christ with forgiven eyes

Steady your gaze and seek His face
Look to Christ with forgiven eyes

by Morning Star Poetry | April 3, 2014 10:22 am Pride of Life

Don’t love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in them. Everything that is in the world—the craving for whatever the body feels, the craving for whatever the eyes see and the arrogant pride in one’s possessions—is not of the Father but is of the world.  And the world and its cravings are passing away, but the person who does the will of God remains forever.  1 John 2:15-17

These worldly things with greed like kings
the flesh and eyes do crave.
In toil and strife, we cling to life
as if it’s ours to save.

We often ask, “is this a task
too menial for me?”
But set aside that ugly pride
serve sacrificially.

All this wanting, ever daunting
just count it all as loss.
Humble your heart, be set apart
and look upon the cross.

Lust of the flesh – the soul’s enmeshed
All sin just leads to death.
But turn back now, He’ll show you how
God is your life and breath.

Don’t trade your soul, show self-control
now is your faith in vain?
Christ has been raised, on Him you’ve gazed
in Jesus all is gain.

Lust of the eyes – word to the wise
it all will fade away.
So do God’s will, He loves you still
He longs for you today.

By His mercy, but unworthy
not fit but useable.
A servants heart, state of the art
to God, it’s beautiful.

Aside You Must Believe and NotDoubt

because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  James 1:6

More belief equals less doubt.
Are you like the wave?
Blown and tossed?

Fear not, the Lord is with you.
Is your faith choked out?
Drowned by fear?

With outstreatched hand, Hell save you.
Do you believe this?
Then why doubt?

Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”  Matthew 14:31

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder and His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Sweet Babe of Bethlehem
so innocent, so pure
Born to be our Savior
of this we can be sure

From the Root of Jesse
was born the Kings of Kings
A helpless newborn
protected
under angel’s wings

The Word was made flesh
to fulfill God’s perfect plan
He came to live among us
this annointed Son of Man

His birth fulfilled a covenant
guaranteed
so long ago
And though we are unworthy
His tender mercies overflow

Immanuel
firstborn of all creation
The promised Messiah
and Cornerstone of our salvation

Jesus brought His brilliant light
to this darkened earth
The wisdom and the power of God
delivered in Christ’s birth

For unto us a child was born
our perfect Prince of Peace
Sent to save the world
His love for us will never cease

Oh sweet babe of Bethlehem
so innocent, so pure
Born to be our Savior
of this we can be sure

We who have turned to Him can have great comfort knowing that He will do what He has promised. This hope is a safe anchor for our souls. It will never move. This hope goes into the Holiest Place of All behind the curtain of heaven. Jesus has already gone there.  Hebrews 6:18-20 (NLV)

Through chronic pain and prolonged death
or stark fatality
each one will take a final breath
life’s only guarantee.
Go peacefully, God’s in control
no longer torn by flesh and soul
Go peacefully
Go peacefully
to suffer not and be made whole.

The Shepherd’s voice will lead you home
beyond the dying night.
For His Name’s sake, now bid shalom
empowered by His might.
Unfailing love through Christ adore
He is The Way forevermore
Unfailing love
Unfailing love
a place prepared with grace in store.

Darkest valley, we dread you not
because our God is near.
Unending life our Savior bought
the tomb we will not fear.
Beyond the grave, go safe and free
your King awaits to comfort thee
Beyond the grave
Beyond the grave
He’ll guide you to eternity.

by Scotti | November 24, 2012 2:40 pm Mighty To Save

“The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

God is with you,
He is mighty to save!

Imparting life
from His very Spirit,
His love is
bolder
than your sins of youth;
broader than the sea;
deeper than the grave.

His gallant love
transforms the meek
to brave;
its always longer
than the broken road
and much stronger than
the nails
that held Him.

God is with you,
He is mighty to save!

Like ethereal footprints
on a wave,
love cannot be measured
but is still known.
Fuller and brighter than a starlit sky;
broader than the sea;
deeper than the grave.

God is with you,
He is mighty to save!

His love for you is
higher than heaven,
broader than the sea;
deeper than the grave.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.  2 Timothy 4:3-4

Desire to know and understand needs no apology
big eyes look to mystic things and itching ears keep searching
by reading stars with charts and codes and numerology
potent snakes await by night to snare the one whose lurching.

Disguised as blazing angels, they will keep you seeing red
hypnotizing venom sucks the life out of tomorrow,
eclipsed by outer darkness valid questions go unsaid.

Ambushed soul becomes entrenched in discontent and sorrow
so deep into deception now the serpent makes your bed
who are you but one poor soul now hidden in the shadow?

The search for Truth will satisfy your curiosity
peace and grace for restless minds; the dragon He will trample,
abide in God, be strong in Christ, the devil he must flee,
step among the Light of Hope whose Love is always ample.
