Friends of Friends of Friends,

First Friday is a new monthly event series for DonorsChoose.Org which makes it easy to Find, Fund, and Follow a classroom in need. All proceeds with be redeemed for gift cards, which allow attendees to choose which classroom project they would like to fund through an online platform.

VENUE:
Drum Bar Rooftop Patio - Located on the 18th Floor of the Raffaello Hotel next door to the Hancock Tower. With a 9pm kickoff we should have views of both the lake and fireworks. SAWEEET

BOOZE:
Tables will be $250 and include 1 bottle courtesy of our sponsor Titos Vodka and admission for up to 8 people on the patio. Those who purchase tales will also receive a $75 credit to donate to the school project of their choice compliments of Drum Bar. Please email FirstFridayChicago@gmail.com for details.

General admission tickets can be purchased for $10 through eventbrite http://firstfridaychicago.eventbrite.com/ and include as many drinks as you can swallow from 9pm-10pm. After 10pm we will switch to cash bar and 10% of all revenue will be donated to a project selected by Drum Bar! Patio closes at 12, bar closes at 2am. If you must, tickets can be purchased at the door for $15

MUSIC:

We spotted DJ Clay Collier playing some funky beats at American Junkie a few weeks back and poached him for this event. At 11pm he will be accompanied by a short electric violin performance to spice up the night. Check out his summer mix here while you are pretending to work:

DONORSCHOOSE PROJECT: Special Needs Band Project!
Mr. Cunningham is looking to raise money to start the first jazz band @ Southside Occupational Accademy. In addition to living in one of the poorest, most dangerous neighborhoods in Chicago, his students face additional challenges as young adults with moderate to severe cognitive impairments like Autism Spectrum Disorder, cerebral palsy and Down's Syndrome. I am requesting 1 Alto saxophone and 5 music stands for concert and jazz band practices and performances. Total cost: $500
