NEWSCenter for Sustainability Solutions Supports USC Multi-Disciplinary ResearchThe USC Center for Sustainability Solutions is pleased to announce the 2020 recipients of funds for the development of major multi-year research projects that address topics related to sustainability solutions.This year’s awards totaling $150,000 will support projects by three teams of USC researchers that reflect the Center’s multi-disciplinary approach to addressing sustainability issues.Applicants were required to involve principal investigators from at least two different schools at USC and provide proposals that described one or more specific sustainability problem. In addition, the Center encouraged proposals that developed new methodologies or technologies that are broadly applicable to a range of sustainability problems.“These proposals were selected from a USC-wide competition for seed funding to advance the University’s research in sustainability. The goal is toleverage these seed funds to develop major projects that provide sustainabilitysolutions for the Southern California region and beyond through novel multi-disciplinary approaches,” said Center Co-Directors Mahta Moghaddam and Detlof von Winterfeldtin a joint statement.The Center for Sustainability Solutions seeks policy, technological, and behavioral solutions to the most pressing sustainability problems of the Southern California region and the world.
