Congressional Award & Intuit announce Personal Finance Program The entire experience really helps make you a well-rounded person. You give a lot to earn the award but the treasures you reap are priceless. Without The Congressional Award, I never would have realized that my passion for the STEM field and a love for helping others could be combined into one. I cannot begin to imagine how vast the impact my generation of millennials would have in our world if every one of us took on The Congressional Award challenge. I have always enjoyed encouraging youth to participate in new opportunities through this program, and then watch as they learn what they can accomplish. I applaud each of you for your achievement. Soon there won’t be medals given for the service you’ll do as adults, but you’ll do it for the space it fills in your heart. By participating in The Congressional Award, I’m now motivated to set more goals in life. As a young adult, I want to keep growing and learning, and sharing my talents with others. The Congressional Award stimulates civic engagement, and that is a virtue our nation will always need. I believe there is no better cause to bring us all together than a celebration of our state’s youth and their incredible achievements. The Congressional Award offers the next level of motivation, which could have profound impacts on your community, your family, and yourself. Thank you to The Congressional Award for helping to foster a vibrant civil community eager to serve their community. I now understand the difference between a goal and a dream. Setting measurable and obtainable short term objectives will lead to long term success. So many young people in our community are doing great things, giving us reassurance that the leaders of tomorrow will be able to overcome the challenges our country faces. The Congressional Award taught me the importance of open-mindedness, persistence and self-reliance in being a whole person. It has inspired and helped propel me to make a difference locally, nationally and globally. You took the initiative, you served others and you achieved results. That’s a winning formula for life. The Congressional Award illuminated for me a world outside the cozy bubble I've been provided, and has given me a more forward outlook of the path ahead. The Congressional Award is far from an end mark. The overall process has inspired me to become service-oriented in my everyday life. As an advisor, I see the program’s impact on my mentees through growth in self-confidence, social skills, and exposure to community organizations. There is a sense of accomplishment being able to step out and say I did this, I am a part of this. That develops your character. The many different certificate and medal options of The Congressional Award make it a manageable program for any youth in just about any circumstance. It starts with a dream and a goal, and can only happen if you go out and give it a try. I have come to realize that I not only have the power to make a difference in my community, but I have a responsibility to do it. The Congressional Award has helped produce an extraordinary group of young New Jerseyans who have done some pretty amazing things. They represent the optimism and hope of an entire nation for a promising, prosperous future. By encouraging such personal initiative, achievement, and service, The Congressional Award program promotes the well-being of our children and ensures the welfare of our country. Taking on The Congressional Award showed me that discipline is a cornerstone of personal success. The Congressional Award Foundation is instrumental in teaching and fostering the values that are critical to create the next generation of leaders. This award is a spring board to anything you want to do in the future; don't let anyone tell you you can't do something. Now you know what you're capable of. For every single person it’s a totally different experience. For me it was a challenge, a struggle within, and victory. Our students face much more competition today, and I believe The Congressional Award program helps them to become well-rounded, goal-oriented achievers.
