Please Note: In this time of compromising air quality, we will only hold outdoor masses on days where the Air Quality Index (AQI) reads 135 or below (Orange - Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, or better). Find out the current AQI reading by clicking HERE (AirNow) and HERE (Crossroads Monitor). Please use caution and good judgment when deciding whether to come to Mass. To minimize the amount of smoke particulates in your lungs, consider using a KN95 or N95 mask when the air is bad.Rain or lightening will also cause us to cancel the outdoor Mass. You will always be able to stream our 10am Sunday Mass and 12:10pm daily Mass. After Mass, we know Newmanites love to socialize. It’s in our loving nature. But in these pandemic times, we must be vigilant because the virus is able to hide and spread through folks without symptoms. To ensure folks who come are safe and do not bring anything unwanted back to there loved ones, we insist that when you socialize, each person stay by a chair on the balcony to maintain 6 feet distancing.Welcome Students!Cal and other students, welcome back to a new year of academic studies. Sadly you are beginning the year during the 2020 Pandemic where everyone must be vigilant to avoid catching or spreading the deadly COVID-19 virus. With over 26 million cases and 875 thousand deaths worldwide, this is a deadly, contagious virus. But every day is always an opportunity to be Kingdom Builders, to live up to our calling as followers and servants of Jesus Christ. Every day is an opportunity for us to shine more light in the world through kindness, gentleness, reverence, patience, and love. To help strengthen you in your calling as ambassadors of Christ‘s light and love, to help connect you with other Catholics and explorers of faith, we provide a variety of activities and services. To kick off the semester, we welcome you to a series of Welcome Week events so that we can all connect with each other virtually:Tuesday 9/8: Rosaries Ramen @ 7PM - Hosted by Outreach Committee. We call this project,CONNECT. I have asked our Paulist seminarian, Eric Hernandez, CSP, to coordinate this project. We will be collecting names of parishioners - permanent parishioners and students - who would like to participate and their e-mail address and phone number. Each week, Eric will send out messages to pairs of parishioners and ask the two to connect with each other that week. You can either call each other or do a video chat. If you need more structure, Eric will provide some ice breaker questions to assist the process. Our parish is filled with amazing people of such incredible diversity and richness. We each have unique experiences of life and wisdom to share. CONNECT will be a way for parishioners to get to know one another and feel connected in this time of isolation. This will also allow us to fulfill our baptism promises to be channels of Christ and God's love for others. This will also make our eventual coming physically together even more wonderful when we finally overcome this virus. If you are interested in participating, please click on and fill out the followingRegistration Form.Season of CreationFrom September 1 to October 4 each year, Pope Francis has asked the world to celebrate a Season of Creation.
