Recentlymy birders and I visited the Floodgates and Kiltonga Nature Reserve in Newtownardsto do a spot of bird watching. This isthe family of Swans that I showed you on Mondays post but you can just seeon the left of the first shot a fence and the same fence but even less of itin the right of the second shot!

Recentlymy birders and I visited the Floodgates and Kiltonga Nature Reserve in Newtownardsto do a spot of bird watching. A few ofthe newer members of my group had never seen the Coots feet nor the red mark atthe top of the Moorhens leg and that is why I took these shots.

7 comments: Labels:I.O.W.,Sunday Thought Saturday, 16 October 2021 SATURDAY CRITTERSThisweek these photographs were taken on a day recently when 2 of my birders and Ivisited my old caravan to get the grass cut and then bird watched round the Dundrumand Castlewellan areas of Country Down.On our way we saw these cattle in a field when we were looking for Red Kiteswhich unfortunately we did not see that day.

Timefor Weekend Reflections and The Weekend Roundup and the letter is P andPeaceful. We start with a fewPOLICE cars at the Classic Car Show inRyde on the I.O.W followed by a PEACEFUL scene of this yacht called PUMPKIN in the Marina giving me a PERFECT REFLECTION image. Then another PEACEFUL scone looking over to the PIER and PASSING by is a POODLE on a PADDLE board with a PERSON with a PONY tail, PADDLING PEACEFULLY around the Harbour. Finally I suppose we could call this shot Street PHOTOGRAHY where this PERSON has PEELED off his top, his glasses are PEARCHED on his head and he is PEERING intently at his mobile.

For the past 12 years I have led a bird group in my town and have become a guest speaker on cruise ships talking about Birds around the world. I have travelled quite a bit, in particular to Australia where one of my daughters lives. I have now as many birding friends there as at home in Northern Ireland. I love Nature and being able to share that with others of like mind.
