Theres a tutorial section but it is quite poor. The forums, however, are excellent especially compared to the BIS editing forum.

The well-known classic. Mr Murrays guide is obtuse at times, somewhat outdated (made for A1) and sometimes has errors, but is still a must-have reference document. The long-awaited update was never written, supposedly because the author was upset over this document being bundled into the German Gold Edition of the game. Cant upload a zipped file so just a link for now.

Im pretty close to considering Ins2 a Lost Cause. Jeremy/Argyll still seem to want to implement their first game idea that they revealed around the same time he created NWI for those that dont recall, it was an arcade style PMC vs terrorist thing. They were working on that for a fair amount of time and I assume the current game is built of that origin, rather than the mod. I guess they got no investors for CS: Clone v943927 so grabbed the Insurgency name to trade off instead. Jeremy on Gamasutra:

Yeah, those arsehole paying supporters of the game, screwing with Jeremys artistic vision. Those people he has already taken money from while promising a specific game. Quote Jeremy:

This while trolling a server. He has made plenty of such claims. He doesnt seem to grasp the staff/customer role thing and from his forum posts it seems he has a singular vision and something resembling insmod is not it.

 

The best thing in the game right now are some old insmod maps ported over (by a player, Led Enema). Playing them really highlights how horrible this version of the game is compared to the last. Free game made in peoples spare time paid for codclone by professional team. I can live with bugs and glitches and lack of content, but this game has already gone in the direction that killed the mod.

Ausarma is basically the same as when it started, with a lot of if I cant control everything its unrealistic combined with servers that seem to focus on the casual games, DayZ and Wasteland. Most PvP Ive seen there has been people at each others throats on the forum.

BigD seems to be organising some big TvT games. Not sure how competitive that is, but looks fun. From a quick look around it looks like the intent here is definitely NON-competitive.

Ok, I dont know if well stick with this, but Ill throw a few things up anyway.

First, defunkt is an admin so expect things to get a lot better. I dont know what Im doing. Site will likely change drastically if we keep it.

Second, just throw a youtube address straight in for embedded YT. For picture use add media or click that button and grab the code, as I dont think the option is there for reply comments, but its supported anyway.
