We started this website back in 2005 (We actually started as 'YanmarOwners.com' until we were forced to change the name due to a trademark issue). We wanted a place where owners of Yanmar tractors could interact and help eachother with common problems. Since there is not a real dealership network for these tractors we felt that it was important for customers that had these tractors to be able to help each other. The site has become more popular over the years and we really appreciate all of your contributions! . "All Yanmar tractors are diesel. Yanmar never made a gasoline version. " (Fun Fact #1) "You might think the 'D' after some models means 'Delesel' but it doesn't. The D actually indicatess that the tractor is 4wd. Why they chose the D is a mystery but it does make things confusing. " (Fun Fact #2) "Yanmar built the worlds first small diesel engine. They built it in 1930. They have been building diesel engines ever since including some MONSTEROUS diesel engines for marine applications!" (Fun Fact #3) "Yanmar built the compact tractors for John Deere for almost 30 years. If you look under the hood of many compact John Deere tractors you fill find a Yanmar diesel engine. " (Fun Fact #4) "After being out of the USA tractor market for almost 30 years, Yanmar is now selling tractors in the USA again. At first, under the Cub Cadet/Yanmar brand and now under their own brand. " (Fun Fact #5) "The early Yanmars were painted a dull lime green color. Turns out that color was not very popular here in the USA so they changed it after a few years to a deep red. The red is between the dark red Massey color and the brighter red Case IH red.
