Anastasia, not only maintained the highest of expectations, delivering reviews, working to deadlines and procuring new content, she unequivocally frequently exceeded it. It is therefore with the heaviest of hearts that we bid Anastasia a fond farewell and wish her continued success, health and joy as she embarks on the next chapter of her own personal narrative.
Anastasia, this is but a small tribute to your huge contributions to KBR over the years, your unfailing work ethic and steadfast ethos-driven commitment. We couldnt have done it without you. But now well have to! With infinite thanks from your KBR family and friends.

It was 4am and I was breastfeeding our secondbub, Patrick. He was four months old, and I was in that half-delirious,sleep-deprived state in the wee hours of the morning. The words started playingin my mind, and I grabbed my phone and punched them into my Notes.
Ever since Patrick was born, Id been lookingfor a certain type of book. I wanted a book that was a beautiful wish to theuniverse about the possibilities and enjoyment of the simple things in life like Alison Lesters Kissed By The Moon but that was about two kidsexperiencing that life together. I wanted to nourish the bond that Ihoped they would share. But I searched and I searched, and I couldnt find thatbook. And then it came to me, in those pre-dawn hours.
I wanted to capture the simplicity of sharedmoments between siblings. As the story starts, when two kids are a littleyounger, those moments are small clapping, peek-a-boo. As they get older andtheir world starts to expand, they have bigger experiences feeding chooks, chasing ducks. And as they get older again, that deepens to shared stories, shared dreams. There is mischief and silliness and scraps and scrapes nothingis perfect. But there is always wild, expansive imagination, and always love.
Rhyme was important. I love hearing childrenfill in the end of their favourite sentences in books, and they seem to do thatmore with rhyme. I like sticky words the ones that you remember.
This is my first childrens picturebook. Its the fulfillment of a life-long dream for me. When I was a littlekid, I would sit at a typewriter all day and write, write, write.
Then I hit my teens and I started towobble. I lost confidence. And I stopped writing.
It took many years before I built upthe confidence again to write. There was something about having kids of my ownthat I just knew I had to do it it was now or never. My purpose has alwaysbeen about nourishing imaginations and I knew I had to walk the walk, notjust talk the talk. So I did it, and Im so proud of how its all cometogether.
You Two, You Two is illustrated by ElinMatilda, who has an extraordinary use of colour that captures attention andimagination. We still discover little hidden details in her work on the pages.
There are few relationships as important asthose of siblings. Even though we know that our kids may not always be the bestof friends, when they are little I think we all very much hope that they willbe. And recently, during lockdown where kids see only their siblings for daysand weeks on end that relationship has been put to the test. Its my hope thatby reading this book, kids get a sense of the possibilities and fun of that specialsibling relationship. You Two, You Two is full of optimism and hope, and thatshow I think their world should be.

Its his favourite game, full of sharks and crocodiles. And just like some pirates, Joes only got one leg.
Joe would love to have other children join him to play. However, children can be incredibly curious, and curiosity isnt always subtle.
Other kids always ask Joe what happened to him, why he only has one leg, and Joe hates being asked about it.
He doesnt like the intrusive or silly questions people ask either.

Hey Grandude! McCartneys first book, has a sequel and Im convinced there will be more adventures to come to make this into an action-packed series.
Grandudes Green Submarine is luxurious; striking! A parade of colour, it resembles a house fitted out without thought of cost. Katherine Dursts outstanding illustrations depict animated scenes in detail, predicting a childs journey into discovery beyond the obvious. Musical notes are included, of course!

Monica McInerney is an internationally bestselling author of novels for adults, who has just released her first book for children. Were thrilled to be able to ask her about it.
Welcome to Kids Book Review, Monica!
Youre known as the bestselling author of 12 novels for adults. What prompted you to write Marcie Gill and the Caravan Park Cat, your first book for children?
I have 18 nieces and nephews and all the while I was writing my adult novels, I was also writing short stories for and about them fun, magical and adventure tales with them in starring roles. More than 8 years ago, one of those family stories planted the seed for Marcie Gill. It became a real labour of love. I worked on it in between my novels for adults. I discussed it with my nieces and nephews. Finally, 3 years ago, I seriously began to write it.
