Our practice specializes in maternal-fetal medicine, prenatal diagnosis and obstetrical ultrasounds. We provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient management of high-risk pregnancies, with services ranging from preconception counseling, pregnancy management, delivery and critical care obstetrics.Our team includes Dr. Alfredo Gei and advanced practice providers who work collaboratively with obstetricians, midwives and other specialists in the treatment and care of women with maternal or fetal complications.Dr. Gei is an internationally recognized specialist who has treated patients from around the world. He is both board certified in maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology, with a special interest in trauma and critical care obstetrics.Advanced obstetrical ultrasoundOur advanced obstetric ultrasound and screening services include ultrasound, fetal echocardiograms, genetic counseling and genetic testing. Our comprehensive services allow for full insight into each patient s unique diagnosis.An ultrasound will be performed by one of our registered diagnostic medical sonographers, then reviewed and interpreted by Dr. Alfredo Gei, our maternal-fetal medicine specialist. Dr. Gei will discuss the findings with you during your appointment, and your results will be communicated with your referring physician to formulate the best plan to provide appropriate obstetrical care for you and your baby.We are available if you experience a medical problem after hours. Please call our office to be connected with a doctor through our answering service. In the event of a life-threatening emergency, please go directly to the nearest emergency room, (by ambulance if appropriate), and explain that you are our patient.If you experience any of the following symptoms, call our office and we will instruct whether you should go to nearest emergency room:• Labor (pains, contractions, pelvic/rectal pressure or lower back pain)• Rupture of membranes (leaking fluid, “water breaking”)• Vaginal bleeding or spotting• Decreased and/or no fetal movement• Trauma to abdomen (falling, motor vehicle accident)• Temperature exceeding 100.4OF• Right upper quadrant pain, chest pain or shortness of breath• Visual disturbances• Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea• Cold/flu symptomsCall our office during regular office hours for:• Prescription refills• Questions about medications in pregnancy• Test result• Appointment times• General, non-urgent questions (excluding topics mentioned in emergency section)Weekly logsDownload and print diary/log sheets to monitor and record blood glucose levels based on your type of diabetes.
