Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples (henceforth referred to respectfully as Indigenous Australians with full acknowledgement of their cultural and historical diversity) receive substantially lower access and poorer quality of healthcare compared to non-Indigenous Australians. While there has been considerable health and medical research aimed towards correcting this gap, much of it has not translated into actual policy. Moreover, a lot of this research ignores indigenous values and principles.

The Journal of College of Sharia and Islamic Studies (JCSIS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal affiliated with Qatar University that publishes articles from around the world in both Arabic and English. The journal provides a forum for quality research in multidisciplinary classical and contemporary Islamic studies. Founded in 1980, the JCSIS is a valuable resource for both scholars and students of Islamic studies. JCSIS encourages contributions related to all fields of Islamic studies. The journal aims to deepen historical research on Islam, and it publishes papers that address historical and social science perspectives spanning the period ranging from Islam’s emergence to modern times.

Project

Our research team has developed a new way to estimate the concentration of oxygen in the Earths atmosphere and track it's variation through geological time. Our approach is to use a laser technique to measure trace elements in sedimentary pyrite that has formed on the seafloor, through time, and to quantify certain trace element ratios in terms of ocean concentrations and atmosphere oxygen. The result is a new model for Earth's oxygenation, which challenges the current model and is thus regarded by most scientists as very controversal.

The healthcare system worldwide faces a growing crisis as costs escalate and disillusioned doctors and nurses leave the profession. Economic considerations increasingly drive decisions, which is forcing healthcare down an ever-narrowing alley. A new paradigm is required, one that puts old ideas and definitions of health to one side to focus on a person-centered approach to equip everyone with the services and support they need to respond to life’s demands.

High entropy alloys (HEAs) are novel materials developed in 2004, which consisted of more than five transition metals in a single phase of body centered cubic and face centered cubic. Alloys containing these elements tend to form random solid solution in simple crystal of body centered cubic (bcc) and face centered cubic (fcc) structures depending on principal elements.
