This website contains photographs taken on the run over several decades by a now retired professor of geography at a mid-tier, Midwestern university. He added the captions to help him remember what he had seen and what he was otherwise likely to forget. Some of the captions are almost scholarly; others are blatantly opinionated or merely state the obvious. That's what happens when captions are added over decades.
