The Hive offers a year-round or term-time only Nursery Pre-School provision for rising 3 s. Children can stay for an academic day or a longer day; 8.00-6.00pm. With all their meals including and an educational focus throughout the year, The Hive is much more than nursery care. InReception to Year 2, a strong emphasis is placed on learning through exploration, investigation, discovery and problem solving and social development through teaching and free play activities. This is imbedded in topics and the curriculum as the children begin their academic career. The Junior School is where expectation on academic and personal development increases, the children, supported by their teachers, discover their individual brilliance. Specialist Teachers in many of their subjects, prepare and equip them with the skills they need for the transition into Senior School. During this fundamental time for personal development, teaching and learning is adapted to suit the individuals. The Diamond Edge Model of Education see s boys and girls taught separately in core subjects, they then come together again socially and an in other subject to balance and benefittheir different ways of learning. In Year 10-11, girls and boys come back together and learn collectively, sharing and collaborating to work towards their GCSE Examinations. Pupilsnow navigateresponsibility both academically and socially, with the support andguidance of their tutors, subject teachers and the whole School community. Students become a more independent way of studying in their A level years, one that will prepare them for University and life beyond Clifton High.
